Clark Fork River

Clark Fork River, Montana, is home to some outstanding whitewater rafting and fishing fun. Discover fishing guide services and raftng trips here.

When seeking a good fishing spot, a fishing raft trip or just wanting to try another superb whitewater rafting river, Clark Fork River in Montana is a sure bet. It has become renowned for its rolling torrents and quiet fishing holes.

The most recommended spot along the river for whitewater rafting is by far the river's Alberton Gorge. This very deep canyon has dramatically defined and rosy cliffs, rising high above intense rapids. In fact, most rafters agree that it is like riding a roller coaster, as the river becomes dramatically more violent and then suddenly calms completely without warning, yet to regain its momentum just a short ways down river.

There are some less ferocious rafting locations enroute, all of which are perfect for families. Children are not only treated to a heart stopping adventure, but get to view the many species of native birds and animals that use the river as their local watering hole. It is not uncommon to see an elk, beaver or deer or two just in a mere half day excursion.

All rafting tours are operated by certified operators. Equipment is fully provided and safety training is mandatory before every trip, no matter how calm the waters may be. This is especially important for those taking along children (age 4 on up only). In fact, tours can also be extended to include lunch and/or trail hiking.
