Lake Como

Boating and fishing are a real delight in the state of Montana, and it has some incredible locations that both tourists and locals visit every year. However, Lake Como is one of its best, and renowned for its excellent amenities and other opportunities to venture further afield with these exciting sports.

Lake Como in Montana is a premier spot for fishing and boating. It draws in visitors from across the state as well as many locals. It has many facilities that are great these activities and tours are available for those wanting something a little more adventurous.

Located just off Highway 93, this lake offers plenty of opportunities for quick and more extended angling and boating vacations. The site has varied amenities, including well-maintained picnic tables, barbecue pits, campgrounds and washrooms. In fact there are a couple of boat launches as well as a pleasant beach.

Local campgrounds provide water supplies, washrooms, and easy access for handicapped person. They are close to the lakes many horseback riding, dirt biking and hiking trails. Camping fees are not included in the parking permit price, and all vehicles using the lake have to display the pass clearly inside the front windows. Entrance fees to the lake include the use of all the facilities, as well as the trails. They range from $2 for the day or up to $20 for a full season of fun.

The lake was named after the Italian one of the same name, thanks to one of the area's early pioneers, W. B. Harlan. Apparently it reminded him of a painting he had seen of the Italian wonder. However, local aboriginals refer to the lake as belonging to the albino moose that is native to the area.
