Darby (MT) is home to a fare distribution of exciting and innovative activities and events. One highly recommended pursuit includes a visit to the Darby Pioneer Memorial Museum, where the history of this settlement is clearly displayed through life sized log reconstructions of its local gold rush buildings.
Originally the museum was a mixture of varied homesteads, remnants from the past, but as time wore on, the need to maintain and renovate, even rebuild these became increasingly necessary. However, some of its original artifacts have survived intact – pioneering household items, local business implements and varied donated photographs.
Darby provides various tours of the nearby areas, including parks. However, the best time of year to visit the town is during its summer festival and events season, running from late July into late August. Events include the Fun Days, Strawberry Festival and Logger's Days. In fact, the town has become famous locally for some of the most succulent strawberries in the region.
