Swimming opportunities are plentiful in and around Missoula, Montana, so if you want to dip in the pristine lakes and pools of the Big Sky country, you must include this area on your vacation itinerary. Combine swimming with the myriad other activities available to you here in beautiful Montana.

With gorgeous views in every direction, swimming at Flathead Lake is a true experience. Besides great swimming, you can take part in other water sports, as well as hike the forested lands surrounding. And within 30 miles in any direction, you will find more lakes and rivers that make this a vacation paradise.

Don't leave out Seeley Lake for there are 3 Forest Service campgrounds and all offer swimming areas. Swan Lake also has places to camp and swim nearby. In these camps you will find restrooms, as well as sites for RVs. Between swims, you can go hiking along the nature trails or fish in nearby streams.

With Lake Alva, Salmon Lake and Placid Lake in the region, to name only a few, there is no lack of summer fun. The weather will hold and give you plenty of chance to enjoy these waters with the incredible views of mountain vistas, perhaps even spotting some of the abundant wildlife living here.

Include Missoula, Montana in your vacation plans for a great time for all, particularly the kids. If you ever get them out of the water, you will have plenty to do and see here in the forests of Montana.
