Airport Services
The Missoula Airport is fairly small. Luckily, it does offer a small gift shop, High Country Gifts, which offers souvenirs from the area as well as huckleberry jam, Montana sapphires, and books by local authors.
The restaurant is basic and offers the usual with burgers, fries, sandwiches and salads. Once through security, you will find Liquid Planet refreshment cart, which offers coffee and some snacks. If you don't have time to sit down for a meal, you will find vending machines near the baggage claim area and in the corridor near the ticketing desk.
The airport also offers wireless internet throughout the terminal. In case you forget to bring cash, you can use the ATM that is found in the terminal. Public pay phones are also available.
Getting To/From Airport
Once you land in Missoula, you have plenty of transportation options. There are nine car rental agencies with help desks located directly across from the baggage claim area. You can make a reservation before arrival or try your luck renting a car on the spot.
Don't want to rent a car, make a reservation with the Airport Shuttler. The Shuttler operates between MSO and passenger requested locations. Note, you most likely won't be the only passenger, so drop off can take some time. Reservations are required for transportation.
Most hotels in Missoula offer shuttle service to and from the airport. But, make sure to double check with your hotel before relying on them for transportion.
Taxi service is also available. Use one of the transportation courtesy phones located within the terminal to call for a taxi or a shuttle. A taxi should cost around $20 for one passenger traveling from the airport to the downtown district. Prices vary according to number of passengers and drop-off location.
Don't forget about the bus, the Missoula Mountain Lion, which just expanded service to include a route to the airport. Route 11 will drop you off at the transport center, located in downtown Missoula. There are also early morning buses that go directly from the transport center to the airport. Check the schedule for details.
